Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

The manuscript in Vancouver style should be sent to the Managing Editor, which is accepted with the understanding that they or their essential substance have not been published elsewhere.

Authors are requested to submit their research paper / manuscripts electronically using Online Portal of Indian Journal of Preventive & Social Medicine (IJPSM) Website: http://ijpsm.co.in. First time users will have to register as author, after registration confirmation mail will reach to your registered email id, login with your register email id and click on activation link for activate your account. Your account will get activated as soon as you will click on hyperlink and submit article after logining into the site using their user name and password which confirmation mail will reach to author EMAIL ID and on assigned contact number or you can contact with us for any further assistant to Email: ijpsmbhu.vns@gmail.com

 

All controversies related to any article are responsibilities of the author(s) and not of any Editorial Member of IJPSM. The informations presented in the article are sole responsibility of the authors. The editors have reserved the final right to accept / reject / modify the paper. The articles, not more than 6 pages (3000 to 3500 words excluding Abstract, References, Tables and Figures), typed in double space on one side with a covering page giving details of the names of author(s), corresponding address, Email Address, Telephone/ Mobile Number and Running title for blind processing, should be sent in MS Office format for editorial processing.

Types of Manuscript: Editorial/ Original Research Article/Review Article/Short Article/Case Report/ Short Communication.

Major Points for Research / Review Article / Case Report

    • Preparation of your Manuscript

    • Manuscript Title should not be more than 40 words

    • Name of Authors  with Affiliation  and Designation

    • Complete Address of corresponding author

    • Abstract should not be more than 150 words

    • Standard English maintained throughout the article

    • Keywords should not be more than 10 words

    • Explain tables and figures in Manuscript body

    • Images/ photographs resolution should be more than 300 dpi or high contrast

    • Maximum word limit for Original Research Article should be 3500 words and for Review Article Maxium 4000 words.

    • Tables should not be more than 4-6 and Images/ photographs not more than 3.

    • The numbers of authors should not be more than 5. It may be relaxed for multi-national/ multi-dispinary study.

Guidelines for preparation of Manuscript: Manuscript should be arranged according to the rules stated in "Uniform requirement for the manuscript submitted to biomedical journals" (Ref. Br Med J 296: 401-5, 1998). The manuscript should be presented in Standard English without any typographical error. The Author should use Times New Roman having front size 10 throughout the manuscript. The author has to give 1.5 line spacing with before and after 0 point throughout the manuscript. No editing or material changes at the proof stage will be permitted.

Title: The Title should give the brief idea of manuscript. First letter of each word in title should be in capital.

Authors: The name of all authors should be written as First name (Author Name), Middle Name (Father Name), Last name (Surname). The Correspondence authors need to give Institute/ College name with designation and address, postal address for Hard Copy  of Journal and Certificate, email id, phone number etc.

Copyright Transfer concurrence for authors: Each author will be asked to sign a copyright form when the papers are accepted for publication. All authors must read and agree to the conditions of copyright form, return the signed scanned Copyright form within a week through e-mail. Any article accepted for publication will be the copyright of the journal.

Abstract: The abstract should not be exceeding than 150 words. The abstract should give overall work done throughout the text.

Keywords: The keywords should not be more than 10 and which should be selected on very careful method.

Introduction: The Introduction should be brief and limited to the statement of the problem and aim of the study and the techniques employed. The drafting of introduction should be done in such a manner that reader should understand the rationale of the work done.

Materials and Methods: The material and methjods should include relevant details on the nature of material, study design, the techniques employed, and statistical methods used. For well-known methods, citation of reference will suffice. The method should include the steps which was follows for the selection of study subjects in a systematic flow.

Results and Discussion: The result work should include the appraisal parameters with detail description of method and results obtained. The statistical illustrations are highly advantageous. The correct and good statistical data containing manuscript will get more liking and should be produced in standard software package.

Tables: Tables should be typed on separate sheets, each with a heading. Table should be typed with the first letter (T) capital. All measurements should be in metric units.

Figures and Line/ Bar Diagrams: Figures should be small, simple and easily understable. Unnecessary figures and parts of figures should be avoided Figures/charts and tables created in MS Word should be included in the main text rather than at the end of the document. The illustrations should not repeat the data presented in tables and vice versa. Text figures should be used in preference to tables. Text figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of their reference.

Only high contrast/ quality of figures that are essential shall be accepted and require a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Line art should be supplied with a minimum resolution of 800 dpi.

Conclusion: The conclusion should not be more than 100 words which summarized the whole work briefly.

References: All references must be cited in the text by the reference number using superscripts. No links between superscripts in the text and actual references in the reference sections may be used. References cited should follow the style given below:

  • Proof Reading: It is your responsibility to proof read your page proofs. Your manuscript editor will provide you with instructions; the date by which the proofs must be returned will be in the schedule provided at the beginning of the process.

  • Publication EthicsAuthor should observe high quality with respect to publication ethics as set out by the Commission on Publication Ethics (COPE) and International Committee of Medical Journals Editors. Categorization of data, plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work without proper citation and embezzlement of work are all intolerable practices. Cases of ethical misconduct are treated very seriously and will be dealt with in accordance with Commission on Publication Ethics guidelines.

  • Authorship: All authors listed on the document should have contributed significantly to the design or functioning of the study or the analysis and explanation of the data. All authors should have been involved in the writing of the manuscript.

Processing charge will be paid by the author as mentioned in the acceptance letter.

Back issues of the journal are available at the 50% of current price. All payment has to be made by a Bank Draft in the name of INDIAN JORUNAL OF PREVENTIVE & SOCIAL MEDICINE payable at Varanasi. Kindly add Rs.20/- as processing fee of the bank in case amount is sent in multicity Cheque.

Acceptance letter will be issued by the Editor/ Managing Editor of the journal.

Plagiarisms: Indian Journal of Preventive and Social Medicine (IPSM) shall take serious action against published manuscripts found to contain plagiarism and shall completely remove them from Journal website and other third party websites where the paper is listed and indexed.

Advertisements: Advertisement on the back and inside cover pages will cost Rs.10000/=. Advertisements at any place of the journal (black & white) would cost Rs.5000/= Sponsoring for advertisement for complete volume will have attractive discounts.
