A Study on the Importance of Health Programmes in India

Background: Health programs are of paramount importance in India, a nation with a massive and diverse population facing a complex web of health challenges. These programs initiated and supported by the government and various non-governmental organizations, are crucial for improving the overall health and well-being of the citizens, reducing disparities, and fostering socio-economic development. With over 1.4 billion people, India grapples with a dual burden of communicable diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, and diarrheal diseases, alongside a rapidly rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer. Objective: The resent study was conducted to access the importance of health programmes in India. Methodology: For the current research work, a total 200 respondents were chosen by using Random Sampling. Regression analysis tool was used for the current research work and data collection was conducted through a semi -structured interview. Result: The result reveals that there were 49 respondents of age group 20-23 and 56 respondents were of age group 24-30 while 49 were in the age-group 31-40. 37 respondents belonged to the age-group 41-50 while 9 respondents had the age more than 50 years. The Physical health, Mental health and Health Programme variable explain 44.2% (male) and 43.1% (female) variance. Conclusion: Health programs provide the necessary framework for disease surveillance, prevention, and control, which are essential to mitigate the impact of these health issues on the population. The success of these programs not only improves the quality of life for individuals but also contributes significantly to the nation's human capital and overall socio-economic development.
